What is custom portraiture? How is it different than a portrait studio?
When going to a chain portrait studio, you will most likely feel rushed and have little input in the final product. With custom portraiture, I come to your home or other suitable location and work with you to get the results you desire. I find that young children are most comfortable at home and the portraits reflect that. Sessions are never rushed and allow plenty of time for breaks and wardrobe changes. New parents also enjoy the luxury of having a photographer come to them while they are settling in at home as a new family.

We can style the session around your child or family’s interests or any theme you may want to incorporate. I strive to make portrait sessions fun for you and your family whether it be at home, outdoors and any other suitable location.

Do you only take child and family portraits?
I specialize in maternity, newborn, baby, child and family portraiture. I also offer lifestyle head shots for business use. Please contact me regarding your specific photographic needs. I currently do not offer event services.

How do I schedule a session?
You may call or email me for a pre-session consultation. We can discuss session options, locations, wardrobe selection and the type of portraits you desire.

Availability
Due to the custom nature of my services a limited number of sessions are scheduled each month. Please inquire in advance to ensure availability. For newborn sessions, please inquire during your third trimester so your due date can be added to my calendar. Ideally, maternity sessions are held around 30-34 weeks and newborn sessions are held within the first 7-10 days.

Travel
I offer custom portrait sessions throughout areas of Baltimore and Harford County, Maryland. Travel is available for a small fee for areas beyond 25 miles of zip code 21014.

Baby’s First Year
Little ones change so much in their first year! After your newborn session I recommend scheduling sessions between 6-9 months of age (when your child is able to sit up on their own) and a first birthday session. We can style the session around your child’s party theme and even create custom birthday party invitations with images from your session. First birthday cake smash sessions are also very popular. Custom album and storyboard designs documenting your child’s first year are also available. Returning clients receive 25% off classic session creative fees.

Do you provide images in b&w or color?
I typically include a variety of images in both color and b&w. I do have a fondness for the classic, timeless look of b&w photography!

Can I purchase all the files on CD?
While I specialize in creating heirloom quality artwork and design for your home, I do offer digital options. Digital negatives can be purchased individually or as a collection. Please inquire for a full price list.

If I buy the digital negatives do I own the copyright?
When purchasing digital negatives you receive only the permission to print the files. Copyright remains with DeVoe Creative Photography & Design and the files cannot be used for commercial use, sold or edited in any way.

Do you offer assistance for choosing print sizes and products?
Absolutely! I can recommend a print sizes, products and display ideas for the space you want to showcase your images.

Environmentally Friendly
DeVoe Creative provides all client forms and information digitally to reduce unnecessary print waste. Photo cards, marketing materials and gift certificates are all printed on the highest quality, art recycled card stock. All prints and products are printed on heirloom quality, archival safe materials with a standard archival value of over 100 years!
