Session Details

Each photo session is as unique as your family. A portrait should reflect you and your lifestyle. You can include your pets, hobbies, sports, favorite activities, musical instruments or other special personal items in some of the images.

All sessions include a pre-session consultation to discuss location options, wardrobe selection and to answer any questions you may have. The standard portrait session fee is $150. The portrait session fee includes 1 to 2 hours at one location within 25 miles of Bel Air, Maryland, an online gallery of 20-30 edited images in a combination of color and black and white and hosting of your online gallery for 3 days for ordering.

Please inquire about booking your session at least 2-4 weeks in advance. If you have an important event or particular date in mind, book as early as possible to ensure availability. For newborn sessions, please inquire during your third trimester so your due date can be added to the calendar. Ideally it is best to schedule newborn sessions within the first 2 weeks.

Prints and Products

DeVoe Creative offers heirloom quality prints & products including photo canvas, albums, printed cards and photo jewelry. Custom birth announcements, collages, holiday cards and storyboards can be created to match your style. Print collections and digital options are available. Art prints start at $25 for a 5x7. Please inquire for a full price list.

What to wear?

Have fun with your clothing choices! The most important thing is that everyone is dressed in clothes they like and feel comfortable in. Avoid dressing family members in contrasting colors. For example, do not dress your children in white and then have the adults in black. This creates too much contrast in an image and photographs poorly. Everyone does not have to match! Choose a color scheme (example brown, green & blue) and have everyone dress in those colors. Textured fabrics photograph beautifully: denim, cable knits, corduroy, linen and eyelet dresses. Avoid clothing with characters, logos, busy graphics and shorts.

What time of day should we schedule our session?

Ideally you’ll want to choose a time that works for you and your family. The best time of day for outdoor portraits is the few hours before sunset. No matter what time of day you choose, I can work with the light to create great images. If you have younger children, avoid scheduling during nap or meal times.

What if it rains or I need to reschedule?

If it rains the day of our outdoor photo session we can reschedule for another date. I have a small portable studio, but we can also utilize the backdrops in your home. If for any reason you are unable to make the date of our session, please let me know within 24-48 hours of our session.
